Automation and robots

All studies show that the majority of equipment in the printing industry is not used to its maximum capacity. In fact, a recent study from Heidelberg showed that the use of an average offset press’ production capacity was in the area of 55%, while the owners stated that it was their impression that the presses were used to the capacity limit.

While the offset presses have been extremely automated in the past years, pallet changes and pallet transportation is normally still done manually and is, consequently, very labor intensive. And printed products cannot be produced without a finishing department which, in spite of extremely advanced equipment, is highly labor intensive, because the operators still have to feed and empty the machines manually.

The only way to improve the productivity of the operators is to use the operators’ skills correctly and use the equipment’s capacity in the most appropriate way. This can only be done by automating and robotizing all equipment and take the heavy, dirty, dangerous and repetitive working activities away from the operators with automation and robots.

In cooperation
Cool Graphics is, in cooperation with Yaskawa Nordic and the Danish Technological Institute, specialized in analyzing the printing industry and develop the most productive robotic solutions for the industry, which we then market to the world’s most progressive printing companies
